About Andrew

Growing up, I was surrounded with a family who’s answer to “How do you that?” was always, simply: “Lets figure it out.”

Everyone in my household just seemed to know how to do everything. Maybe they didn’t at the time- but they certainly learned how.

My maternal grandather was a true renaissance-man. Working professionally in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and automotive.

The level of hustle still displayed by this old Franco-Ukrainian man in his 70s is astounding.

I recall a family gathering a couple of years ago wherein he arrived late from a job, then had to leave early to make it across town to fix someone’s refrigerator.

This attitude definitely rubbed off on my mother and her sister.

My aunt wound up in a job where she would have a good portion of the year off. She decided to take up a different hobby almost every year.

From wedding cakes, custom ornaments, to re-doing her house’s entire interior on her own. She would make the Michaels craft-wives weep.

My mother is a whole ‘nother beast.

My mother made every one of my halloween costumes growing up.

I don’t mean she altered some clothes, and slapped some makeup on me.

We’re talking about amazing costumes of dracula, the big bad wolf, and jedi. The 90s photos of these do not do them justice.

But when she wasn’t busy with her day job, sewing costumes, she might be found baking up a storm for the next family gathering, gardening, refinishing the interior of her house, or working on her car.
All this on top of raising a child.

All of these people had a big hand in encouraging my curiosity as a child. Something that’s stuck with me ever since.

To this day, when I hear an interesting word- I always try to look up the etymology.

I originally thought Helicopter came from “Helix” (based on DaVinci’s original Helical wing structures) and some other greco-latin word that I was unfamiliar with.
Turns out that it actually comes from “Helios” (sun) and “Copteros” (wing).
The half-interesting fact attached to that is that copteros is the same root that gave us the Pterodactyl.

Anyways, I’m getting a bit on with the prose here.

I’m Andrew and I love to create.

Wood working, music, graphics. Whatever.

About My Tiny Workshop

My Tiny Workshop was born out of the desire to put more of my work out for the world to see. After spending years on stage, and trying to seel my woodcrafts online, I wanted something to be able to flex my creative muscles again.

About my Fiance: Chelsea

My beautiful fiance and I met many jobs ago when we both worked weird hours at a banquet hall.
Since then she has never failed to encourage me to be the best that I could be.
Whether that’s writing music, cooking food, making anything in the wood shop, or being a good dad to Jubby and Clover- she’s always cheering me on.

About: Clover

Born in January of 2020, The Monster of Cloverfield (“Clover” for short) just got her promotion to President of Barks.
She’s a curious little girl who thinks everyone smells great- which is a truly great attitude to have.

About: Jubby

Jubbalina Jubsworth (“Jubby” for short) was born around 2001 as far as we can tell. We’re actually her 3rd owners.
When I got her, she was about to be surrendered to a local turtle rescue. She had been living in a tank half the size she needs (she could barely turn around in it!).

Since joining the family, Jubby has taken on the role of Basking Supervisor, and Chief Bubble Officer.
